Bobenneukirchen, a district of the municipality of Bösenbrunn, with the scattered settlements of Höflein, Einsiedel, Pfaffenberg, Weidig and Weißenstein, lies in the Schafbach valley, surrounded by the Upper (524 m) and Lower Gemeindeberg (495 m) as well as the Kieselberg (542 m). While the villages of Burkhardtsgrün, Zettlarsgrün and Engelhardtsgrün, which were incorporated in 1973, consisted almost exclusively of agricultural properties, Bobenneukirchen developed from the beginning of the 20th century into a place with a high proportion of workers and a lot of handicrafts. Since 1960, the farmers have been producing in the LPG "Frieden", which developed into the agricultural cooperative after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
